Rivers United’s Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL took a significant hit after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Bayelsa United. The loss leaves them eight points adrift of league leaders Remo Stars, who extended their lead with a convincing 2-0 victory over Enyimba.

With just seven games remaining, Rivers United now have 52 points from 31 matches, while Remo Stars sit comfortably at the top with 60 points from 30 outings.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars’ situation has gone from bad to worse. Their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Abia Warriors has left them at the bottom of the NPFL table with only 23 points from 30 matches.
