# Apizzer: spin up a secure REST API for SQL Server in minutes—no code

**Apizzer** is a self-hosted, no-code platform that turns your **Microsoft SQL Server** (including Azure SQL) into a standards-compliant REST API. You keep full control over data and deployment—expose it internally or to the internet, with auditability and guardrails built in.

## How it works

Point Apizzer at your database and map **tables, views, and stored procedures** to endpoints. API definitions live alongside your schema (in metadata), so they naturally track schema changes. **OpenAPI** docs are generated automatically and presented via **Swagger UI**, which makes onboarding consumers fast and predictable.

## Security & governance

Authentication uses **JWT**, while authorization aligns with your **SQL Server roles**. Out of the box you can enable **rate limiting**, **CORS**, security headers, request logging and **OpenTelemetry** traces (with integrations like Treblle/Sentry). You control allowed HTTP methods, projections, filters, pagination, and caching per endpoint.
